MAJOR EVENT THIS MONTH WAS:

07/09/04 BANK ST.-Spring Ct. "April", calico kittten from Spring Ct. born Nov 2002 and adopted by Herb March 2004, died suddenly today. Autopsy by Eastern Animal Hospital revealed congenital hole in her thoracic diaphram allowing the intestinal tract to push through and collpase her right lung.

WASHINGTON ST 07/24/04 Our Two Kids were totally rescued from the rubble of the demolished dairy warehouse. Horse guardians of Leonardtown, MD adopted the two as stable companions on 07/28/04.

EASTERN AVE @ DUNDALK AVE. 07/05/04 Dramatic rescue of an 80 lb rottie/shepherd mix by Holly and Jessica of Eastern Animal Hosp and Herb. The rescue stretched over eight blocks taking an hour where the naive dog was nearly killed several times by crossing Eastern Ave. Finally, Holly & Jessica leashed him. He boarded overnight at Eastern. A deaf man arrived for him in the morning.

BURGER KING - N. Point & Kane St 07/03/04 Mary spots an Emaciated White cat by dumpster.
Later, Herb returns to find a Strapping Gray Cat.
07/10/04 Herb sees a healthy Orange/White probably age two.

BELVEDERE AVE 06/24/04 Mary accepted four kittens from elderly man's backyard. The man trapped a slender tortoise shell. We spayed her on 06/25/04 at Academy Animal Hospital.
07/13/04 Mary transported the little girl to Delmar MD sanctuary.

ESSEX, MD - HOPEWELL AVE. 07/20/04 Herb trapped the last five week gray/white kitten under a homeowners' deck. Lisa & Stephanie had already trapped seven kittens and two mothers in shed nest door.

LAKEWOOD AVE- Canton 07/18/04 Linda Murrow first spots the mother and six month kittens down alley.
07/21/04 Linda continuing to feed the family.

07/25/04 The Black Cat whom Tracy surreptiously took home became deathly ill. He was admitted to Animal Emergency Clinic and was euthanized after an Oxygen set-up.

Herb picked up dead White/Black Kitten in common yard. Seemed well-nourished with no injuries. The City rat man had stopped on street but not in common yard. Maybe rapid dehydration caused both deaths.
07/23/04 Possibly Mrs. Barnes' Orange Boy has moved to SarahAnn St.
07/27/04 Neighbor lady says Calico Mother was dead in backyard 07/22/04. Had blood from mouth.
Also, a Tortoise Kitten and Tuxedo Kitten are at adjacent ramshackle house.
07/30/04 Mrs. Barnes was most distressed that all the cats are gone.

IRVINGTON - Augusta Ave 06/16/04 Herb took another malnourished calico and admitted to Academy Animal Hosp.
06/19/04 Dr. Lewis says the malnourished calico has rhinotracheitis and in quaranteen. She is making progress.
06/28/04 Ray & Jean visit the sisters and take a small Tortie from the backyard.
07/02/04 Glenda @ Academy adopted the malnourished calico.
07/16/04 Herb took one Slender Black with shoulder cellulitis. He was treated and neutered at Academy Animal Hospital 07/17/04

06/30/04 The last Tuxedo Kitten about ten weeks arrived at the fence. Also, Tabby Mom and DLH Tabby were there.
07/02/04 Tuxedo Kitten inside fence. Tabby Mom was mating with Big Black inside the lot.
07/05/04 Last Month, Mary & Herb caught three of the four kittens. Tonight, the only Tuxedo Kitten was present with Gray/White.
07/06/04 Tuxedo Kitten came from the weeds crying.
07/07/04 Brenda trapped the Tuxedo Kitten and has him in safe foster care. This is the fourth and last kitten of th litter. Brenda also trapped the Tabby Mom. who received Our Vet Care at Eastern Animal Hospital 07/08/04.
Brenda says another previously unseen Gray Tabby Kitten about six months appeared.

CHESAPEAKE PAPER Oct, 03 was month #1: population: 3 siamese; 1 siamese youngster; 1 Grey/white; 1 Tabby; 1 black; 3 black youngsters.
07/01/04: Security Guard, Walter, said two kittens were there.
07/02/04: Security Guard, Walter, believes Black Youngster has a newborn litter.
07/06/04: One Siamese and one Black Youngster present.
07/08/04: Two Black Youngsters and Siamese Youngster present. Security Guard says two Tabby Kittens were playing yesterday.
07/11/04: 8:30 PM Two (10) day old tuxedo kittens on the concrete. Their eyes were sealed over with infection. Herb administered first aid then admitted them to Academy Animal Hospital in the morning.
Sabrina Wills took possession of the babies in the evening.
Herb trapped the Tabby Mom and one Gray Kitten #1 born 04/15/04. Mom received Our Vet Care at Eastern Animal Hospital. Kitten received first aid on his eyes. Herb is giving Clavamox and Terramycin. Surprisingly, the kitten is totally tame.

07/16/04 Two Siamese; One Siamese Youngster; Three Black Youngsters; one Gray/White Kitten.
Present was the third kitten of the 04/15/04 litter.
07/17/04 Black Youngster, Gray/White were there.
07/22/04 Black Youngster, Gray/White were there with one Siamese plus Gray Kitten #2.
08/04/04 Security Guard says one Simese dead in shrubbery since 07/26/04. Herb found the body.
08/04/04 All three kittens above (07/11/04) are thriving under our foster care.
